I’ve had the pedometer for 18 days (not counting the first day, my average is about 3800 steps a day) and have come to the conclusion that my first goal with this is to get my daily steps to be ABOVE 5000 every day, not just on some days. Once that happens, my next goal will be to maintain that minimum, but strive for 3+ days of 7000+ steps. From there, I’ll increase the minimum (probably to 7000) and increase the 3+ goal days (probably to 10,000+). The weather should be getting better (soon, I hope) for being outside which hinders my walking at the moment. Well, that and the foot/ankle excruciating pain issues.
Today, I purchased a (Gaiam 75cm) stability ball. My intention is to use it for workouts as well as for seating for computer work… After inflation, it apparently (according to instructions) will seem small and underinflated, but needs to “relax” 24-48 hours and then it can be fully inflated. It is blue. It smells like new plastic/latex. However, it is comfy to sit on to type. It will be even more so when it is inflated more (and thus taller).
So far it is fun… comfy to sit on… and the girls are fighting over it…
I purchased an Omron Premium Pedometer Model HJ-112 online. It arrived today!
It is alway exciting to try out a new toy tool that should help you with your goals. At the same time, I am nervous that this thing will be screaming my inadequacies to the world. I suppose that the positive spin on that would be to beat it… that is, to better my numbers with each passing day/week/month/year. Here I go.
Today, I decided that I need a day of “rest.” By this I mean, I did not ride my bike or do alternative “aerobic” exercise. I did, however, do some targeted ab work and continued with my feeble pushup attempts. (Really. It is pathetic. However, I am not giving up… As I have a goal to be able to perform 5 regular pushups before my birthday in May. I cannot even do one whole one yet…. )
I was very tired today. My littlest child has been sick with a fairly high fever for the last 3 days. Nothing horrid, but needing lots of cuddling and gophering for. That and my legs are so worn out, stair climbing (and I did a lot of that today) was really difficult. I hope that I am not coming down with whatever she had. (By the way, she is much better now.)
