Unplanned Hiatus

Well, I realized today that it has been a whole month since I posted anything. I had not intended to have such a long hiatus, but my life starting getting in the way of my blog.

My weight is up by one pound from my last recorded weigh-in (a month ago). Although, I would prefer a generous amount less than that, I am pleased that it is not higher. I have been feeling quite bloated and HUGE lately.

I have been drinking ALL of the water I should every day for the last three weeks. I have not had a sip of soda (diet or otherwise) since April 30th. While I have not been keeping my portions quite small enough (I am sure), I have stopped taking seconds (and thirds…). I have upped my exercise a lot in the last two weeks. In addition to 15-20 minutes walks, I have added bursts of activity. While waiting for something, I will do some incline push ups, or squats, or calf raises, ab work, or tricep dips. Since the weather has been fabulous here, I have been doing A LOT of labor outside as well. Most of which involves tons of squatting and bending (I usually squat, but if not lifting anything, I’ll throw in some deadlift moves too).
I am convinced at this point that the bloating is related to my monthly cycle (and my body saying ‘hey! is there a drought? I should hang on to all this fluid!’) and in the next few days, I should be able to let go of much of the bloaty-fluid retention.

So…back to the grind.
