Vacations are Awesome!
We left Saturday morning (June 30th) for vacation up north. We would have left Friday, but Alex had her last day of basketball camp that morning. After driving for about 8 hours (including all the potty stops!), we arrived at our destination. Our friend has a “camp” up there (really, a nice house and enormous garage which he will one day retire to) and we stayed there along with several other funtastic people. Eight days of being away. It was awesome. We did a lot of four-wheeling and watched the Independence Day parade in town on July 4th and the incredible fireworks show over the water that night! We had a lot of good time, a great party on Friday and probably way too many fire-roasted hot dogs and s’mores. We returned on Sunday, July 8th. Phoebe cried. I wanted to, but didn’t.
Nevertheless, I am down two more pounds. I was actually down six more the week before we left, but gained, then lost and my net loss is only two pounds. Now, that we are home, it’s back to the low g.i. diet and time to actually workout. Really. It’s time.
This morning I rode my recumbent bicycle for 30 minutes bopping along to my iPod (Yay! IPod!) while Phoebe watched The Wonder Pets and some Laurie Berkner Band videos (we love, LOVE Noggin here). After the bike, I did my Power 90 Ab Ripper 100. Actually, did 10 reps of everything but the last move. I only got in 4. I feel good now, but expect to be very sore later, or tomorrow.
I’m back on track.
