Today I did the cardio portion of TT… 20 minutes on the recumbent bike for a beginning HITT workout.
I have to say that it sucked. I haven’t liked riding that thing in a while, but the worst part was that I am still so sore from yesterday. AND, I feel like I’m getting sick. I hope not as both of my girls had a vomiting stomach virus recently. One was Friday, the other LATE Sunday night.
(pssst…girls! please don’t share your germs with me! I’ll forgive you, really!)

In the spirit of immediate failure (yes, why wait?), I did not start my workouts on December 1st. I cannot adequately explain why. I can only simply say that is how it ended up.
I did my first TT Workout today, December 2nd. The workout looks easy, but damn, it kicked my butt…and my back.
I was sore within an hour after completing the workout and thought that for the next day I would be lucky to move. At all. And this was the “beginners” workout! Ha!
I completed almost every rep for every set, except the last set of pushups I could only do 6 rather than 8. Honestly, I’m not sure I should could that 6th one, but I am.
All in all, I loved it. It was simple, it kicked my butt, did not require a television, and it did not require tons of space. The only “equipment” in fact was an exercise band. For one exercise (the one from which my upper back is sore). And, perhaps, either soft carpeting or a folded towel to pad my knees. This is the most totally awesome travelers workout–for those who, you know, travel. Anywhere. (That would not be me.)
I opted (at least for this week) to do my cardio on non-strength days for now. On to Day 2 which is cardio in a 20-minute high intensity interval training (HIIT) program.
