Abs

Today I did the TMT Abs routine.

Um, all I can say is “WOW!” It was brutal.

I did every single exercise, but some of them I only did a couple of reps.

The Problem with Tomorrows…

…is that they are always “tomorrow.”

A week ago, I said I would update everything, “tomorrow.” Apparently, that meant in another week.

Here’s the whirlwind update.

DIET: My diet sucks. Terribly. I eat healthy stuff, mostly, but, too much, or not at the right intervals, or something.

WATER: I really need to be consistently drinking my water. Preferably, plain water and not with any artificial sweeteners in it.

EXERCISE: Consistency is what I do not have lately.

I have been attending the weekly workouts at the play structure since January 8th. Honestly, I LOVE the group workouts. Seriously love it. I just wish it was more than once a week. Unfortunately, it wasn’t just a workout. Apparently, it was a whole program with diet, exercise, and a bunch of “mental” exercises. I know people need to be well rounded this way, but I was really only looking for the workouts especially since I was going be at the play structure anyhow and if I could be working out for 45 minutes to an hour of that time (and off my bottom) all the better! I am just completely not interested in the other components of what they are trying to do. At least not right now.

I had had success with the low-glycemic diet way back when I did it. I stopped when the holidays arrived. I maintained throughout the holidays, but just could not get going again once they were done. That was a little more than a year ago too! I am SO happy that I did not gain everything back. I believe it is because I have incorporated a lot of it into my nutritional habits and lifestyle, but as I am still stuck in the 200s, I obviously haven’t got it enough into my life.

Tomorrow (there’s that word again), I will weighing in with the workout group. I believe it will also be measurement day as well. I fully expect a gain this week. I hope not a huge one. I have been working out this week, but honestly focusing more on the strength and sculpting type and hardly at all on cardio.

Tomorrow morning (yes, I know…that word), I am rejoining my low-gi lifestyle.

For today, my diet went well. Not particularly low-gi, but not horrid either. I drank 64 ounces of water, but half of it was with Crystal Light packets. Also, two cups of coffee (no sweetener!!) with milk. Need way more veggies. I have once again been using SparkPeople (only because I know people there now) and becoming immersed in it, and am considering giving FitDay another chance (I thought it was frustrating when I tried it a year ago).

My workout today was a 45-minute DVD: The Bar Method: Fatfree followed by 20 minutes on my recumbent bicycle. I attempted intervals, but I was just not focused on it.

I once again put on my pedometer and have fallen horridly short of recommended step counts. I would like to say that I had completely forgotten to put it on until about 9 am (having been up almost 4 hours at that point). The dismal count was 2559. My goal for the month is to better that number each day. Even if it is only by ten, as long as it is higher, I will be happy with it.

In summary, I am re-entering the low-glycemic nutrition world, I am watching and improving my step counts, I am exercising every day, and I will update here at least once per week.

Update

12.12.07 / Exercise, Food, Health, Pedometer, Reports / Author: / Comments: (0)

I haven’t updated recently and I had have such high hopes of a nearly daily update.

I have complete two more Turbulence Training strength workouts. I am AMAZED at the change in my strength and “hardness” in my arms and legs. WooHoo!

The diet end had not been going so well. I had fallen prey to the crap that has been circulating everywhere. I even fell back into my Starbucks habit every time I went to any store that there was a Starbucks. *Insert giant sigh here!*

Then I did something that I had not done in months. I mean MONTHS! I made a menu. Now, I haven’t followed the menu exactly, but somehow just having it being in existence has helped me in ways I cannot even say. First of all, I made it a requirement that I eat every 2-3 hours. Period. Only after that requirement is the contents of the “meal.”

It’s been three days since I started this back up. I cannot even relay the difference in how I feel.

Day one was hard, I obsessed whether it was time to eat again or not. I made myself crazy about it.

Day two was much easier, I think, in part because I was busier and did not really have time to think it to death.

Day three has been great! My energy is once again consistent through the day. I’m tired when I should be (at bedtime) and not when I shouldn’t be (like every other minute of the day).

I admit, that I have not worked out yet this week.

I will.

I promise.

That and I will make a much better effort to remember to put on my pedometer every day. (I’m so bad at that.)

G’day to you all! G’night too!

TT Day 3

04.12.07 / Exercise / Author: / Comments: (0)

Today I attempted my next TT workout. The schedule called for the B workout (Beginners). So that is where I started!

I thought the warm up was going to kill me. Seriously. I was that tired and that sore still from last time.

I finished the warm up and seriously considered stopping there, but willed myself to continue.

Did I complete the whole workout? No. A little more than half? Yes.

I got through the first superset. I felt wobbly during the step ups. Unfocused.

The second superset is where I declined quickly. I completed all of the first exercise, but that last set of pushups? Um, no. Just the prep position was hard to hold.

So, I grabbed my water bottle, walked around a little bit to “cool down” before stretching.

Now, I’m writing about my “to failure” exercise today. Hahaha. I think that I am coming down with something….hopefully, not the vomit-something….. Tomorrow should be another 20 minute stint on the bike, if all goes well!
